U.S. National Futsal Team Defeated by UNESC, 4-1, as Preparations for FIFA Futsal World Cup Continue  
  • U.S. in the midst of a tour of Brazil and will return to Milwaukee to face Japan on Sept. 12 and 14

  • CRICIÚMA, Brazil (Sept. 3, 2008) - The U.S. National Futsal team lost, 4-1, to UNESC, a Brazilian club side, on Sept. 2. Three goals in the first half proved to be enough of an advantage for UNESC, and, though the U.S. pulled a goal back through Matt Stewart in the 27th minute, the lead was insurmountable for Keith Tozer's side.

    The U.S., currently on a four game tour of Brazil, is gearing up for the FIFA Futsal World Cup which begins in Brazil later this month. Following the matches in Brazil, the U.S. will head to Milwaukee for games against Japan on Sept. 12 and 14. The U.S. lost to Brazilian Futsal club team UNISUL on Sept. 1

    Brazil is the host country of the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup, which kicks of on Sept.30. The U.S. Futsal Team has been drawn into Group B along with Italy, Portugal, Thailand and Paraguay.
