CARSON, Calif. (Aug. 22, 2008) – The U.S. U-15 Girls’ National Team continued their strong play at the 2008 Women’s Nike Friendlies with a second consecutive shutout, topping the U-17 Irvine Strikers on Friday. Alexandra Doll and Christina Murillo each scored a pair of goals, and Olivia Schultz and Caprice Dydasco each added one. The U.S. pounced early as Doll got a first minute goal after stealing the ball just outside the 18-yard box and shooting quickly for a 1-0 lead. In the 20th minute, Schultz drew a penalty kick and then stepped to the spot to convert, and nine minutes later Doll scored her second with a shot right over the goalkeeper. Murillo’s goals came one minute apart, with the first on a pass from Shea Groom and the second on a shot cross from Kaysie Clark. Dydasco added the last goal of the game in the second half as she cut inside from the left win after receiving a pass from Haley Rosen. The team will have one day off to rest before facing Real Colorado at 8 a.m. PT on Monday.
